SERVICE AND REPRODUCTION FEES AND PERMISSIONS

The Swift-Stewart Research Center charges fees for the use of images for publication, distribution or exhibition in any format, including print and electronic media, and for extended research services.

The fees support the care and maintenance of our archival collections.

All rights to image reproductions from the Stewart-Swift Research Center archival collection must be obtained in writing from the staff of the Center.

Submit form Conditions for Visual Materials Publication Agreement to the Stewart-Swift Research Center. The Permission to Publish will be granted upon completion of the application, staff approval, and payment of all fees.

IMAGE PERMISSION FEES

Print or Electronic Publications

Non-Profit/Educational (or edition of fewer than 1,500 copies)

Inside: $25

Cover: $50

Commercial (or edition of more than 1,500 copies)

Inside: $50

Cover: $100

World Wide Web

Non Profit/Social Media: $25

Commercial: $100

A scanning fee of $15 will be added to all images that have not been digitized.

Above fees are for a non-exclusive license to reproduce the image(s) in one edition in the one language specified, unless otherwise agreed by the Museum in writing.

Permission to use the reproduction(s) in reprints, revised editions, foreign language translations, or derivative works must be requested separately.

All reproductions in any medium shall bear the following credit line:

Advance payment is required for all photo orders and reproduction rights. Please make checks payable to Henry Sheldon Museum.

SERVICE FEES

Research Services

For all genealogical research and any other in-depth research questions that involve staff time, a $25/hour fee will be charged after first 20 minutes of free service

For any material sent to a researcher off-site, a 15% museum processing fee will be added to the shipping cost.

Photocopying or Scanning of Printed Materials

Published materials: 25¢ per page

Archival, unpublished: 50¢ per page

Hourly fee of $25/hour will be added after first 20 pages of photocopied materials.
